I am thinking of a case mod; here is where some of my inspiration comes from:





The case from Showdown LAN are also some influence.

I am thinking of an Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, but I can see some obvious problems with the natural design and that of a mobo and system.

I have also not considered whether I would want my gaming rig in it or the carputer (something small). I also have an in between computer in my closet that consists of my old comp.

Building a custom case would be awesome but you better be prepared to put some serious time into it. I've wanted to build a companion cube case since portal came out but I don't have the time or the needed tools in b-town.

You should do a companion cube, it would be the bees knees!!!

I always wanted to build a completely seamless/quiet black box. no buttons or anything. with touch activated buttons and a slot loaded dvd/cd drive. maybe i can do it in the future.

You should use a dremel and cut two holes in the case and not really deburr it so you get cut when you run your finger on it. Then try to put fans in the holes you just cut. I'm thinking one should be 80mm and one should be 120mm. You should also mount the fans backwards so you don't get the right airflow and your case sounds really loud all the time. Careful, I've heard with this type of case modifying you run the risk of your computer overheating and getting the blue screen of death all the time. Just an idea. But seriously...

I think you should make a case out of bamboo and twine. That case would be so kickass. I don't know how you would even go about making it but I think that would be cool. It should be a Swiss Family Robinson computer case.
