Posted: Tue Jan 27, 2009 10:33 pmAs long as he has the latest operating system (OSX v10.5, aka "Leopard") it should have Boot Camp on it already. If he has an older operating system he'll probably have to find an old Boot Camp beta download and hope it works well enough to play games on it. I wouldn't suggest it, it will be missing drivers and will have unresolved driver issues, but it's your only option if you don't have the latest OS. (Edit: Here's the beta in case your friend doesn't have Leopard: )
Assuming he is running Leopard, (which has been out for over a year now) all you have to do is get a copy of Windows XP or Vista, and start running Boot Camp. It will allow you to partition your hard drive however you'd like, then you just have to install Windows on it like any PC. Once that's done, you need to insert the Leopard CD to get all the drivers, and run Apple System Updater to get the latest version of Boot Camp support. Once you're finished you can start up your computer anytime and just by holding the "alt" key while powering on, choose which partition (Mac or PC) to boot from. It's all pretty easy and should only take a couple hours, or however long it usually takes to install Windows.
I should also note this only works with the newer Intel Macs, so if his computer is more than two or three years old he's SOL. Then again, if it's that old, it probably can't run L4D anyway. Which reminds me, he's going to have to meet the system requirements for L4D so don't bother doing this unless he's got a good graphics card and enough hard drive space for a partition, etc.

Posted: Wed Jan 28, 2009 5:02 amNot sure. Might not be able to run it, not many of the standard MacBooks have good enough video cards to do a lot of high end gaming. Mine is a MacBook Pro, it has a dedicated NVIDIA card.
