Exhilarating

I am not sure why, but I had this urge to speed today. I have not driven fast in a long time and wanted to have that feeling again. Needless to say I kept going up to 126 mph before slowing down. My need was fulfilled, but it was both scary and thought provoking. The car moved along so swiftly and the sway from side to side was so intense. I remember the last time I was at that speed and there was not that much sway (Cadillac Catera @127mph). A lot of thoughts will move through your head, thoughts you would have not pictured otherwise. Gaff and Doege can relate to the feeling, it is very intense.
Just thought I would share.

It is fun going that fast. Tried it a couple of times in the lumina, which I was a lot more confident in than my current vehicle. I'm pretty sure the sunfire would simply fall apart at around 110; not a well made car, that thing.

It's been a long time since I've gone that fast. Frankly, I think the Saturn would blow up at those speeds. The speedometer only goes to 110 and the only way I think it would make it is if I was going down hill with the wind at my back.

Yes that's quite impressive for a vibe, i wouldn't have expected it, but when I drove it, it did have a lot of pep.
fastest i've been:
1. 1991 Mazda protege - 105 mph (and that was over an 8 mile stretch and going downhill at the end)
2. Passenger 1995? Oldsmobile Aurora - 109 mph (it got there so fast but electronically limited so it wouldn't go faster)
3. 1996 Chrysler Town & Country - 110 mph (pretty good for a minivan, lol)
4. 1996 Ford Probe GT - 120 mph (but it didn't want to go much faster although felt pretty stable at that speed)
5. Passenger in 1997 Taurus SHO - 135 mph (not safe speeds in a Taurus, slightly shaky would be an understatement, but still fun!!)
SHO for the Win!!

The SHOs (Super High Output) are quite fast, especially the 8 cylinder versions. Even the 6 cylinders are able to brake stand in driveways.
The fastest I've gotten my car is 132 or so, and that's drag limited. If I had my back against the wind, I might get a few more mph out of it. And that's not really that fast. I've gone about 520 mph before, but that was a Boeing 737-800.

Going that fast in the SHO was freakin great! I remember we went that fast for quite awhile and then I had to slow down to about 110 to pass a semi. I thought we were going to die that night the way the dash and the glove box were shaking. It had to have been something with the tire alignment. Man I miss that car. (It was a 1997 SHO by the way Doege (both of them lol))
My first and greatest car.
In memories you will live on forever.
Godspeed my steady steed, Godspeed!
