Now for the inside

Ok, the latest McMyAdmin update allows automatic backups of our world.

With this new functionality, I am now able to backup the world to a separate file and run the cartography program automatically from the backup.

So basically I geeked out tonight and did this:

Setup McMyAdmin to automatically backup the world to some empty directory. Then, 30 minutes later (because this process takes awhile), my .bat file will run and do the following:

-make a new backup folder for the day (unique name)
-extract the backup file mcmyadmin made using winrar into the new directory.
-copy the cartography program into the backup folder
-run the cartography program to make 2 maps (normal and obliqueangle)
-copy those maps from the backup folder to an image folder (always overwriting the old ones)
-connect through ftp to the web server and upload those files

Has anybody watched Notch program at all? It's kinda boring, but I watched him make a block and add it to the game, only took about 6 minutes.

Ok, no one has probably really noticed, but the Minecraft maps were not actually getting updated everyday like they should. I have been fixing stuff with my script each day, but tomorrow, knock on wood, they will both work for real.

If someone wants to make a change tonight and verify it updated the maps tomorrow, that would be fantastic.

Not sure if it is just me but normal at least isn't loading... and it appears obl is large again... 41megs
