Windows Server critical issue

Postby markblake » Fri Aug 18, 2017 9:20 am

Have a serious issue with client that has antiquated servers. Environment is Windows Server 2003, advised get new hardware Windows Server 2012 R2 and we would hastily migrate the old 2003 DC to new Windows 2012 R2 DC, upon further research and documentation their version of Windows Server 2003 indicates x86 processors indicating 32 bit version of Server 2003 is running which cannot transition to a 64 bit version during domain controller transition? Choices seem to be only one of 2 options: A:) Rebuild a new domain along side existing with the caveat of no adding DHCP roles. B:) Procure a Windows Server 2008 32 bit version of server software and attempt transition that way?

Thanks !

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
