most TVs that are 720p are also 1080i. They are about of equal quality, however I believe 720p to be better. (based on zero scientific fact, just my opinion.)

I have came to a final conclusion onto what i am going to due. These are the models i am deciding upon. I will be gaming on my ps3 and i will be hooking the hdtv up directly with my coax cable from the wall cable with out a box so i can get over the air hd local channels.

here are the models
697.00 SOny model, they have this on sony usa .com but it comes with speakers, i am guessing because the model alone itself is exclusive to sams club and costco.
http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...170&pCatg=5883

or

the samsung ln32a540 650 however this model that costco carries is not 1080i or whatever like samsungs website says. its only the 720 which does not bother me anyway. so basically its the 450 model with a better remote and 1 more hdmi port.

or

a vizio model 32 inch for 529

or maybe the phillips model

anyways i think i am leaning towards the sony.......... i think it must be a great model i cannot find to many reviews on it obviosly because its an exclusive model as of now..

please help i am making my decision tomorrow

ps i have reason to believe the qam tuner in the samsung does not work well with the comcast direct coax cable to the tv without a box plus the speakers really are not the greatest in the back and all i think........

thanks everyone please help

Yeah, you probably get a grace period to bring it back if something does not work.

Again, the Samsungs, Sonys and Toshibas will have the hardware and software to handle the high contrast and movement of video games. The Samsung, I hear, will actually allow firmware updates via USB. I am not sure about the others, but may be something to consider and ask about.

Sounds like you will have fun asking the salesperson questions tomorrow. :)

Good Luck.

Lol, it depends where you go, but I have never bought electronics from a grocery store (Costco or Sam's Club) lol. I know that's not all they sell, obviously, but that's what I think of them as.

I buy electronics from electronic dealers that specialize in them and have electronic specialist to answer my questions.

I guess you have done your research ahead of time, though, so you should be alright.

Just remember, not all TVs are created equally.

I would also lean toward the Sony you have picked out, but even after all the specs and reviews and what not, I think the best way to choose would to actually see a picture on the tv. I've seen tv's that sound good spec wise but when I saw it in person I wasn't too impressed. I would suggest going to those stores and take a look at the tvs your interested in and see how the picture looks in person.

Always a good idea to see it in person, but if your buying from Costco or Sam's Club, you cannot be sure that they don't have a 12 way splitter running coax to all of their TVs.

I recommend going to an electronics dealer (store) and comparing, then going where ever and buying. But even then you cannot be sure of the signal quality they are receiving.

Even electronic stores split the signal to many tvs and its almost guaranteed that all large retail stores split the signal, except for a few main displays, but it still will give a good feel for brightness, contrast, motion blur, and actual color.
